Does anyone else have a hard time starting a training cycle after a long period of down time?
I've been off a training cycle since my 50K in October. That is partially because life has been insane, partially because I've been injured, and more recently, because I just can not find the motivation to start back up again.
I have a handful of goal races ahead of me this summer and fall, ranging from 10 miles to 50 miles. I need to start training, but I'm just exhausted each day.
I'm in a bit of a rut. Work has been weighing me down, more mentally than physically (though random 30 hour trips to Maine are physically draining). I am joining a handful of clubs in the city to engage me more meaningfully with my community, and that's taking up a bit of my time. And overall, I'm just exhausted.
I'll be posting more about my struggles to get back in to training, and would welcome any advice fellow runners have to help guide me towards getting back in the saddle and gearing up for some epic trail runs this summer.
Cheers
Katie
